Everyday life struggles: 7 ways that helped me to develop resilience

Resilience journey: 7 strategies I implemented for life Challenges

Almost every one of us has had to face some difficult situation in our life. Seeking inner strength was often helpful to me. Dealing with life's challenges is not always easy, but it's possible if we implement helpful tips and effective practices.

Making proof of resilience is important for me during difficult times. Also, coping with everyday life struggles is easier when I ask for help from family and professionals.

Sometimes, even when I am planning something and even when I have fixed goals in the short or long term, life can surprise me with a fate that can change everything. That can be a negative or positive event or situation.

What are the best ways you tried to increase your sense of resilience?

In my case, I will focus on my personal experiences, and I hope that I will inspire you with my story. During this year, I will share with you my life stories, which include experiences with my life changes, career transitions, work-related stress, health struggles, and much more.

As life can also be beautiful, I will also share with you my achievements, family life, and positive events, situations, and thoughts.

Meanwhile, I will talk about resilience and the coping strategies I employed when I was in difficult situations.

Fortunately, today, many valuable pieces of information and tools exist, and they can help us to cope with some struggles if we have them.

If you are someone who would like to tell your story, but you aren't necessarily willing to share it with someone else, writing on paper or diary is a wonderful thing you can do for yourself. You can write anywhere it's appropriate.

If inspiration isn't there, it's okay. Drawing, walking, and fishing are also among the many healing possibilities.

Resilience helps with life's challenges.

Regarding the meaning of resilience, I would like to share with you one of its definitions. In simple words, resilience is the “capacity to remain flexible in our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors when faced by life disruption, or extended periods of pressure, so that we emerge from difficulty stronger, wiser, and more able”.(Pemberton, 2015, p. 2).

When I realised the importance of resilience, I searched for scientific articles about many strategies and tips for resilience development to discover more relevant and educational information about this subject. When I faced life's obstacles, the best thing I did for myself was seek help from health professionals.

I will share with you some strategies that helped me personally to be more resilient when life got harder:

1). Sleeping well

When I sleep at least 8 hours, I feel physically and mentally stronger, while a lack of sleep makes me more vulnerable to stress, which in return decreases my capacity of resilience. Overall health requires restfull sleep.

2). Walking in the nature

When I practiced walking in nature, my overall health was better within the time. As nature has the power to heal, it also helps me to be more resilient.

3). Sharing my worries and struggles with the people I can trust

It was helpful to me to tell my family and health professionals about difficulties and things I was going through at some moments in my life. It was a burden releasing for me, which in return helped me to increase my resilience capacity.

4). Writing

Often, writing was one of my ways to express myself, my thoughts, and my feelings, which increased my ability to cope with my issues.

However, I didn't write my diaries on paper, but this way of expression can be a very effective tool for stress relief and resilience strengthening for those who have the desire to write. An online diary is another effective way to decompress.

5). Accepting of the current feelings

In difficult situations, I accepted turbulent emotions and the feelings of powerlessness, and I went through it even when it was hard.

6). Building of the optimistic ways of thinking

As I had tendencies to be pessimistic in my life, one day, I decided to practice positive thinking to strenghten my resilience. Also, I was seeking relevant articles that helped me to think more positively to overcome life difficulties.

7). Weeping

When I shed my tears, one part of my burden was released, and after this, I felt better. So, I could find the inner strength in order to be resilient.

In conclusion, everyday struggles are the reality of life for many people. It's practical, and above all, it's beneficial to know how to find our inner strength and how to become more resilient. As each of us is different, each of us can find and implement healing strategies that work the best for us.

Doing research for educational articles about resilience, being well-informed, and looking for help from health professionals were among the best things I did for my health.

If you have time, I would like to hear a word from you, even if it is "Hello" only.
